2026 Conference Program
The MAA 5th National Patient Conference will bring together leading MG specialists, health professionals and the MG community for a full day of education, discussion and connection.
Throughout the day, we’ll explore new therapies, clinical trials and research, real-world patient research, education, resources and advocacy, with opportunities to ask questions directly of our expert panellists.

Our 2026 speakers bring expertise from across Australia in myasthenia gravis care, emerging therapies, clinical research, patient-reported outcomes, occupational health, education and advocacy.
A/Professor Stefan Blum
Neurologist & Neuroimmunologist
A/Professor Blum specialises in immune disorders affecting the nervous system, with expertise across myasthenia gravis, multiple sclerosis and other neuroimmunological conditions.
Dr Katherine Buzzard
Neurologist & Clinical Leader
Dr Buzzard is a neurologist and Clinical Lead of the MS and Neuroimmunology Service at Eastern Health in Melbourne, with extensive experience in neuroimmunology research, clinical care and education.
Dr Shadi El-Wahsh
Neurologist & Neurophysiologist
Dr El-Wahsh is a neurologist and neurophysiologist at Concord Hospital with a special interest in neuromuscular junction disorders and the diagnostic evaluation of myasthenia gravis.
Dr Andrew Hunt
Research Fellow, Occupational Health
Dr Hunt’s research focuses on understanding the effects of heat and helping people work and live well in hot weather, with extensive experience across clinical and occupational populations.
Dr Laurie McLaughlin
Neurologist & Neuroimmunologist
Dr McLaughlin is a consultant neurologist and neuroimmunologist with experience across myasthenia gravis, multiple sclerosis and other neuroimmunological conditions.
A/Professor Stephen Reddel
Neurologist & Neuromuscular Specialist
A/Professor Reddel is a specialist neurologist with extensive clinical, research and teaching experience in myasthenia gravis and other neuromuscular and neuroimmunological conditions.
Dr Craig Streatfeild
Researcher, Advocate & Lived Experience Representative
Dr Streatfeild brings both research expertise and lived experience of myasthenia gravis. He is actively involved in MG advocacy through MAA and MGAQ and represents MAA on the Neurological Alliance Australia.
Dr Lisa Wright
Occupational Therapist, Researcher & Lived Experience Representative
Dr Wright brings more than 25 years of clinical experience as an occupational therapist, together with research expertise and lived experience of MG. Her work spans occupational therapy, research and advocacy for people living with myasthenia gravis.
